MCDONALD'S DOUBLE FILET O' FISH FOR LENT

LUNCH AT MCDONALD'S 

No eating meat Friday's during Lent Season.  Went for a McDonald's Double Filet O' Fish for the first time ever.  I have had the single version but not in years.  Ordered the sandwich with Lettuce, Tomato and Pickles which added more flavor to the tasteless fish.

Another GREAT Wine Dinner at Oahu Country Club.  Chef Mike did an excellent job with the food and accommodated our dietary restrictions for Lent.  Served up some delicious fish dishes in place of the meat.  The Lobster Tostada was the bomb!  I could have eaten 12 of these.  So good.  Wines were delicious too!

HUMUHMUNUKUNUKUAPUA'A

One of the most beautiful restaurants on the planet.  Dining here at sunset is a pure joy.  The beauty inside and outside the restaurant is special.  Absolutely love it.  You must enjoy a drink or two at the bar which is an aquarium of crystal clear water.  As the sun sets, take a walk all the way to the back of the restaurant and take in all of the waterfalls, sculptures and scenery before sitting at your table.  The food here is good but not great.  Service was ok.  We started with the Crab Cake which was nothing really special.  The Wedge Salad was terrible.  The lettuce was mostly the harder more bitter inner core which I would not have served.  Dressing was bland.  I do a better Wedge Salad at home.  The Lobster Bisque was one of the worst ever.  Tasted like pure cream and nothing else.  Couldn't believe it.  The Wagyu Strip Steak was good but for $100, I don't know if it was worth it.  Despite the food not being that great and a bit expensive I would still come back here time and time again.  Love the atmosphere, view and design.

Our visit to Olivine was a tail of bad decisions. We didn't stick to our diet and ordered fried and high carb items.  Service and view were great but not a fan of the Pizza or Frito Misto.  The Watermelon and Arugula Salad was ok if you like a lot of Arugula.  The Fritto Misto was tasteless and needed some seasoning and better tasting dipping sauces.  The Pizza was terrible.  I ordered Pepperoni and Sausage and the amount of toppings was minuscule.  So little Sausage that you could not taste it on the Pizza.  The sauce was very bland and the crust had to taste.  We ate one slice each and left the rest in the pan.  Didn't even want to take it back to the room.
I would return here but just make better decisions on what I order.
