Saint Louis School is one of the most respected learning institutions for young men in Hawaii and is now famous for having Heisman Trophy winner Marcus Mariota as an alumni. Their 8th Annual Grape Escape is a fund raising event that brings out some of the biggest names in the Hawaii business community as well as a few local celebrities and beauty queens. When you arrive here a dozen or more of our local beauty pageant winners greet and seat you. Where else can you have Miss Hawaii take you to your seat. When you are seated under the large outdoor tents, the food immediately begins to be delivered to your table. Plate after plate of delicious small portions and of course a glass of wine. The wine here flows like a beautiful Hawaii waterfall. There are three wine stations that are stocked heavily with some pretty darn good wines. I stayed primarily with the reds and enjoyed some Caymus, Silver Oak, Swaggar and Lewis Cabs. As the wine flows freely so does the money for the Silent and Live Auctions. When a bid for one item hit $20,000 and kept going higher, I knew that my $100 bid for a Manti Te'o autographed football was all but lost. Not to worry back to my table for some more food, wine and great conversation with some really nice people. Really enjoyed this evening on the campus of Saint Louis School. This has to be one the best wine drinking events on the Island and a great way to support Saint Louis School.

A event like this would only work at a private school. If this was a public DOE event it would be in the papers as using alcohol to raise funds. Great job
