After a visit to Dealey Plaza in Dallas, Texas we decided to walk up the street to find something to eat. When I saw the door to Record Grill I just had to go inside and check out this old school American Diner. The place is small yet very inviting. The crowd seemed to be locals who knew exactly what they wanted without looking at a menu. There was also a good bit of takeout business where it seemed everyone knew each others name. We sat at the counter overlooking the flattop where seasoned cooks powered out dish after dish in what seemed like a perfectly choreographed exposition. No stress or drama here, just professionals who know how to get out good food very fast.
When I saw a Breakfast Burrito on the menu for $2.20 I had to try one. You can choose sausage or bacon in your burrito plus two other ingredients. I ordered mine with the works and loved it. Served with some really good homemade salsa that I really enjoyed. My friend ordered the Big Boy Special ($5.50) with Eggs, Hash Browns, Chicken Fried Steak and Toast. This was a huge meal for five bucks and he absolutely loved it. This place serves up some really good food at prices you would never see in Hawaii. I give the Record Grill two big thumbs up and highly recommend it.
