Enjoyed a nice walk around Clarke Quay in Singapore. This is a very clean and family friendly area of restaurants and bars lining the Singapore River. The jewel of the river walk is a Singapore institution called Jumbo Seafood. Make a reservation or stand in line because this place is busy. Really busy. Their reservation system will text you when your table is ready and when you are seated you are give strict time limit which means you cannot lounge around and drink water to enjoy the view. Our time limit which was written down for us and explained by the hostess was just around 90 minutes. We were seated after about a 45 minute wait and then a hostess came by wearing a Tiger Beer mini skirt. Now if that does not make you want to order a Tiger Beer I don't know what will. One beer ordered. We were here for the Chili Crab and ordered Drunken Shrimp, Fried Rice and Vegetables to accompany our crab. While we waited for our meal we devoured the peanuts that are placed on every table. Turns out these peanuts are not free. They are actually itemized and charged on your bill as well as your napkins. Yup. You pay for peanuts and napkins here. The Chili Crab arrived and we suited up with bibs and plastic gloves. We dug in like animals tearing the crab apart to expose the succulent and sweet meat. Oh my goodness. So delicious with a bit of spice. Absolutely loved the Chili Crab and thought it was much better than Long Beach Seafood where we dined a week earlier in Singapore. The Druken Shrimp and Fried Rice were also good but the Chili Crab was the star here. Just could not stop eating it our the sauce. I put the sauce on the rice, vegetables and shrimp.
