I didn't like Catch LA. I LOVED it! Wow...what a cool spot. Has to be one of the coolest restaurants in all of LA if you like a casual yet upscale vibe with good food and people watching. We arrived and were greeted by young finely dressed men reminiscent of a hard to get into nightclub. I approached the men and they greeted me with smiles and asked for my name. I gave it to them and the barriers parted as they let us in. Another gentlemen walked us to the elevator and welcomed us. Once you get off the elevator upstairs, it is like entering a different world above West Hollywood. The iconic garden like entrance grabs you and takes you in. It was magical. Then of course my Daughter wants photos which leads to all of us taking photos and just living in the moment. Several attractive gals met us and took us to our table which was on the outside terrace. The tables were full with beautiful people. Some dressed to the nines and others rather casual. As the night grew older the clientele began to really take on the Hollywood feel with lots of blonds, plastic surgery and beautiful people.
Our waitress was great and guided through the menu with a smile. No stuck up staff here. All into it to make customers feel great and collect well earned tips. We started with Sushi which is my Daughters favorite. The Hellfire Roll was good but not that spicy. The Truffle Sashimi was delicious but when you pair Truffles with fresh fish the Truffle overpowers everything. I love the flavor of Truffles so it was great. The Waygu Gyoza was good too. We all loved the Grilled Spanish Octopus and King Crab Tempura. The Tri-Color Beet Salad was super fresh, light and delicious. How can you go wrong with Lobster. It delivered on flavor and was satisfying. For dessert we just had to try the signature "Hit Me" Chocolate Cake. When it comes to the table you literally hit it with a mallet to break open the chocolate and expose ice cream. Absolutely cool and delicious. I really liked everything about Catch LA and it is one place that I would like to return to on my next trip to LA LA Land.
