We have been blessed to stay at some great hotels around the world and in Hawaii. While many have been great there is none better than The Grand Del Mar. I love this place. The service is great. The rooms are incredible and the hotel and grounds are impeccable. Once you enter The Grand it is easy to not want to leave. Seems like being in another world that is slower and pretty darn luxurious. This is one place where I am content hanging out in the lobby or grounds morning, noon and night. The hotel is tucked back in the hills of Del Mar away from pretty much everything. We drove to Cardiff by the Sea, Encinitas, La Jolla, Carlsbad and Rancho Sante Fe to golf, shop and dine. This hotel was named the 2013 Best Hotel in America by TripAdvisor and I would agree.
