Despite some heavy rain we were able to get through nine holes at Trump National New York. We enjoyed breakfast and waited in the restaurant for several hours before we threw in the towel and packed up our clubs and headed down the hill back to New York. We were almost to the highway when all of us said lets go back and play. We did not come all the way from Hawaii to have breakfast. We turned around and headed back to the clubhouse where we found the attendants surprised to see us back. The rain was still coming down but we had hope. There was only one other group on the course and it was wet. Cart paths only the Pro Shop instructed us. Our Caddy was game and said lets go play so we headed to the first tee and hit away. The rain came down heavier and then would stop a bit. Even warmed up for awhile and I took off my jacket. Just when I got comfortable the rain started coming down again. After nine holes our group decided to head into the locker rooms and dry off. Locker room and staff were great. We cleaned up and hit the bar for a few drinks and then jumped in a golf cart and drove a few holes on the back nine. Wow......with the leaves turning colors the back nine was like a postcard of colors. Simply beautiful and one of the most beautiful golf courses I have ever seen. Loved this place big time.
