FIOR D' ITALIA

With every visit to San Francisco we try to search out the best Italian restaurants. I look at social media, reviews, Yelp and Best of lists and try to find gems. Doesn't always work but we have enjoyed some decent food. I thought Fior d' Italia was ok, but if were asked if I would return again, the answer would probably be no. Nothing really popped here like Ristorante Milano. We all did love the Calamari which was very lightly battered and cooked to absolute perfection. Some of the best fried Calamari we have ever eaten. Loved it. We enjoyed the Tagliatelle Bolognese and Bucatini Pastas. Good but not great. Nothing we would want to come back for. The Veal Piccata was just ok. Again, nothing I would come back for. Thought the Poached Pear was disappointing after enjoying a superior similar dish at Ristorante Milano. We did enjoy our meal and family time here.
