Finally made it into Jack's Restaurant in the Aina Haina Shopping Center. We often see people waiting outside for a table at this place on the weekends but since we really don't go out for breakfast much have never dined here. Jack's is only open for breakfast and lunch and closes each day at 2:00 PM. We went in for lunch and ended up having a little breakfast and lunch. My daughter ordered Jack's Special Fried Rice ($8.75) served with one egg, Portuguese Sausage and toast. We did not find the Fried Rice to be "special". It was pretty bland and tasted like something you would get at a cheap Chinese restaurant. There was not much in this rice to make it "special". The egg was cooked perfectly as ordered and the toast was very buttery. Not a bad breakfast or lunch. My daughter also wanted Kalua Pork and Cabbage. I saw Kalua Roast Turkey ($9.25) on the menu and suggested we try that. The Kalua Roast Turkey tasted exactly like Kalua Pork. You really cannot pick up the Roast Turkey flavor from the meat. Served with two scoops of rice and corn. The staff at Jack's was very friendly. Always smiling and always coming back to fill coffee and water. I like the neighborhood feel of Jack's and would visit again if we went out for breakfast.
