Loved our dinner at Ember & Rye. We were seated outside overlooking the 18th Hole at Alviara on a warm California evening. Beautiful. Also just a few feet away from the large BBQ pit where most of the food is cooked. A bit smokey at times. While this place is expensive, it does deliver on quality ingredients, presentation, portion size and flavor. The food is cooked outside on a wood burning grill that adds flavor and char to the dishes. The Crab Avocado was pretty cool. They remove the skin from the Avocado and then coat it in black. Inside sweet Crab. Yummy. Loved the Squash Blossoms that were filled with a creamy cheese. The Sishito Peppers were delicious with the char from the grille. The Hamachi Crudo was good but they covered the fish with everything else. Could not see it on the bottom. The Boneless Ribeye was covered in sauce and did not look like most steaks. It was however one of the best steaks ever. Delicious. My Wife had the $82 Swordfish which was cooked perfectly and massive. Like the Steak, it was grilled and covered in char so you could not really tell what it was. I tasted it and it was great. Quality fish for sure but $82? The Carrots and Corn sides were fantastic and more than enough for the table. Desserts rocked and my Daughter devoured the Chocolate Mousse with Pop Rocks.
