We arrived in Cape Town to find our luggage was lost. We hired a cab and asked him to take us to a shopping mall so we could buy some clothes and toiletries. We rushed through the stores trying to find pants, socks, underwear, shirts and shoes. There was not much of a selection but we purchased what we could in a hurry. Boarded the cruise ship without luggage and were off for ten days wondering how we would survive without our clothes.
After 10 days at sea without any luggage we finally made our way back to Cape Town on the Azamara Pursuit on New Year's Eve. Seeing Cape Town and the Table Top Mountain meant we were close to retrieving our lost luggage which was now being held by British Airways at the airport. When we arrived in Cape Town around 6PM, we were the first off the ship and into an Uber. Arrived at the airport and headed to the baggage claim area to retrieve our lost bags. After a bit of hunting we found the bags buried in an area filled with bags of every shape, color and size. What a feeling to have my clothes, meds and toiletries after 10 days without everything. The cruise included three more nights in Cape Town so we did get to wear some of our clothes. Even though we were rushing the entire time, we did not get back to the ship until after 10PM on New Year's Eve.
