Enjoyed a quick lunch at the Mocha Java Cafe in Ward Center. Since I am not a big coffee drinker, I was pleasantly surprised to find that they serve a full breakfast, lunch and dinner menu with a wide variety of dishes. I went for the Club Sandwich ($9.95). The guy behind the counter asked me if I wanted a salad or chips with my sandwich. I asked him what type of lettuce they use in the salad. He confidently said "Romaine". I told him I did not like the Waimanalo Greens lettuce that includes dark and bitter lettuce. He assured me that I would be getting "Romaine". The sandwich arrived and the salad was not "Romaine". It was exactly what I told the guy that I did not like. The salad dressing was served on the side and it was super thick. I did not eat the salad. The Club Sandwich was good though. Nice tasting Turkey, Ham and Turkey Bacon. Would have liked some cheese but enjoyed the sandwich. The Superior ($9.25) was a better deal. Half of Sandwich and this one was a BLT, bowl of soup and salad. The Bean and Vegetable Soup was pretty hearty and tasted good once a little Tabasco Sauce was added.
