SAUSAGE AND BEEF STUFFED PEPPERS
DINNER AT HOME
These were the best Stuffed Bell Peppers I have ever made. Adding Italian Sausage really helped boost the flavor. Started by browning Ground Beef and then set it aside and browned Italian Sausage. Set that aside with the beef and sautéed onions, garlic, chopped Pepper heads and mushrooms in olive oil. Added the meats to the veggies along with a can of diced tomatoes, cooked Basmati Rice and some Marinara Sauce. Added grated Parmesan and Mozzarella Cheese and stirred mixture. Seasoned with Salt, Pepper and Red Chili Flakes. Packed the hollowed out Peppers with the mixture and then topped it with more Parmesan and Mozzarella. Placed the Peppers in a deep oven safe dish that I filled with Bertolli's Marinara Sauce. Covered in foil and cooked for one hour at 375 degrees. Removed foil and cooked additional 15 minutes to lightly brown the cheese. Served with the Marinara Sauce. Entire family loved this meal.
