Our second visit to Margotto was much better than the first. While I loved the first visit with the Chef's Tasting Menu, the new A La Carte Menu was amazing. In fact, this was one of the best meals I have ever eaten in Hawaii. The food and service from Lee and Andrew shined. We ate family style with our friends so everyone was able to enjoy a variety of dishes. Let me tell you, every single dish was perfect. From the first bite of the decadent Caviar Monaka which made my eyes roll with happiness and made my friend say "this is the best thing I have ever eaten in my life" to every dish that arrived, this was heaven. The A5 Miyazaki Wagyu Tartar melted in my mouth like butter. The Beef and Truffle flavors were together were another eye roller of happiness. The Foie Gras Cheese Risotto made everyone smile and several of us wanted to lick the dish to get every last drop of flavor. Then came the Pastas. Carbonara, Bolognese and Cacio Pepe loaded with even more Truffles. Can honestly say that they were all good and I would order each one again and again. Couldn't pick a favorite but the Bolognese seemed to be calling me back for more. The Australian Duck with Foie Gras was one of the absolute best Duck dishes of my life. Bursting with flavor and cooked perfectly. Cut it with a butter knife and it pretty much melted in my mouth. Not every day you get Duck this perfect. Wow..... The Butter Sautéed Fresh Lobster was good, but after all this incredible food it just seemed average at the end. The desserts did not excite me but they all were good. This is now one of my favorite restaurants in Hawaii. Up there with Arancino at the Kahala. I will be back here very soon!
