VAPIANO
BERLIN, GERMANY
Enjoyed a really good lunch at Vapiano inside a large train station in Berlin. Vapiano is a franchise chain with locations all over Germany. The concept here is pretty cool. When you walk into the restaurant you are given a card. There are food and beverage stations located in different locations throughout the restaurant. One station for pasta, one for pasta, one for salad, one for pizza and one for drinks and dessert. Each time you walk up to a station and order, they swipe your card and add it to your bill. At the end of the meal you pay for what you have eaten. This is great if you have a lot of people and you want everyone to pay their own tab. I liked the concept and the food. When you order a pizza they make it fresh and give you a beeper. When your pizza is done they beep you to pick it up. Waiting for salads and pasta took some time but the wait was not bad. This is a restaurant that I think could have great success in America. I was told not to take pictures of the restaurant so I only have a few photos here of the food.
