ST. PETERSBURG SUBWAY
ST. PETERSBURG, RUSSIA
Something told me that our tour of St. Petersburg, Russia was a bit orchestrated so that we only saw the good stuff. Take for example the one subway ride that we took. Looked more like a museum with art filled corridors and museum quality mosaics. The escalator ride down to the trains was amazing. Probably the longest escalator ride of my life. The escalator was filled in both directions but the tunnel was quiet and amazingly civil with everyone seeming to be going the same speed and not rushing. We were warned to beware of pickpockets as we were in all of the Baltic region.
