So lucky to be walking down the street in Oslo and finding the Theatercafeen restaurant inside the Hotel Continental. This was one of the best meals of our lives and it was simply fish and potatoes. We started with some fresh oysters that were sweet and delicious. Then onto the local favorite of Skagen with Toast. This is a mixture of Shrimp and Crawfish and heavy on Dill. The Skagen here was the best we had during our trip. The star of the show here was believe it or not the Potatoes.

These were absolutely the best potatoes I have ever tasted in my life. I found myself craving them every day after eating here. They were simply boiled and then tossed in butter, with course salt, pepper and chives. These potatoes were amazing. So sweet and finished with the perfect amount of salt and pepper. Mind-blowing good! The fish was also spectacular. I enjoyed the Oven Baked Mountain Trout which was like a light Salmon. Melted in my mouth with a sauce that was like silk. One of the best fish dishes of my life if not THE BEST. The Steamed Wild Halibut was also a huge favorite of my Wife and Daughter. The waiter had the dish split in the kitchen so the photo here is only half of the portion. They both said it was the best fish they have ever eaten. This meal was not cheap but it was amazing. One of the best meals of our lives.
