THE ROYAL SUMMER ESTATE OF CATHERINE PALACE
The Royal Summer Estate of Catherine Palace located in Tsar's Village was originally presented to Peter the Great to his second wife, Catherine I, in early 18th century. A few decades later the palace was rebuilt to its present appearance following the orders of the royal daughter, Elizabeth I. The new Late Baroque structure was designed by Francesco Bartolomeo Rastrelli and is home to some of Europe's most extravagant interiors, including the famous Amber Room. This place is cool. Really cool.
