I have been blessed to dine quite often this year at Ruth's Chris Steakhouse. Thought we would switch it up with a visit to Morton's since we have not eaten their in years. We were celebrating Pro Golfer and U.S. Open Champion Scott Simpson's appointment as Head Coach for the University of Hawaii Men's Golf Team. Scott and his Wife Cheryl joined us for what was a really nice dinner with great company. Morton's printed special menus commemorating the event that said "Congratulations Scott". Thought that was a very nice touch. Both the food and service were excellent on this visit. I went with the Surf and Turf Filet Mignon and Lobster which for $59 is a great deal in Honolulu. The 6oz portion of meat was perfect for me and the Lobster Tail was sweet and delicious. Prior to enjoying my entree we had the Chopped House Salad which the waiter split for me and my Wife. Believe me, one of these salads is big enough for two people. This salad was fantastic. I absolutely loved it. The dressing was great. Could eat this once a week at least and want to go back just for the salad.
Also enjoyed the Poke and Crab Cake for appetizers. Sides included Truffle French Fries, Mushrooms and Onions, Brussel Sprouts and Charred Sweet Corn. The Sweet Corn was amazing and if I were not staying low carb would have finished the entire bowl myself.
